Party Favor + Nitti Gritti
With his releases, 2AR pays forward the sounds that made him who he is. Drawn initially to the rawness of grunge, the urgency of rap, and the energy of house, he put all the pieces together.
2AR cut his teeth in Denver’s scene, headlining at legendary nightclub Beta and playing large-scale events like Decadence, Global Dance Festival, Mile High Spirits Block Party, and Corona Electric Beach.
His move to Miami has immersed him into one of the world’s most thriving music cultures and is proving to be the perfect spring board for the next steps in his career. He carries a residency at Treehouse Miami and has hit the Florida festival scene, playing both Countdown Orlando Invasion and Forbidden Kingdom.
Miami based DJ/Producers Ricky Remedy and Penguin Suit Lu are no strangers to the music scene. At the height of the 2013 electronic trap craze, Ricky Remedy found himself as one of the most sought after producers in the game. Making music for Flosstradamus, Diplo and Steve Aoki just to name a few. He started producing hip hop music from a young age and found early success placing records for artists like Wale, Tory Lanez and Yelawolf before transitioning to electronic music. Penguin was by Remedy’s side from the beginning helping co-manage his career, as well as creating content and consulting as an A&R.
Having been already seasoned in the new emerging EDM movement at the the time filming for the likes of Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta, Penguin became a vital asset to Remedy specially since he also came from a background of music and music production. The two continued to build a strong friendship over the years as they focused on their own careers in music and film, respectively. Now they are teaming up for their new project together under the name “Tastemakers” with which the duo aims to bring refreshing art to the urban and dance music scene.
